DESCRIPTION

Testosterone enanthate is the esterified derivative of testosterone that is available in injectable form and it releases slowly. The first injectable version of testosterone in ester form is testosterone enanthate 250 mg/ml. it was first approved on December 24, 1953.

Testosterone enanthate is an androgenic and anabolic steroid that is also known as testosterone hepatonate and used for the treatment of low testosterone levels in the body. Testosterone enanthate is an anabolic drug used for the muscle building and on the other hand it is used as an androgenic drug for the development of sexual characteristics of males.

Testosterone enanthate 250 mg/ml injections indicated for indication of primary hypogonadism   and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and manufactured for subcutaneous use. This testosterone that is subcutaneously administered is indicated only for the treatment of males with hypogonadal conditions.

In females, this medication is suggested for the treatment of breast cancer. Testosterone enanthate 250 mg/ml is used in the presence of metastatic mammary cancers in those females who are from1 to 5 years after menopause.

Each ml injection contains 250 mg of testosterone enanthate in oily solution.

Dosage:

For stimulation of development of androgenic dependent organs and the initial treatment of symptoms caused by deficiency, testosterone enanthate 250 mg/ml should be injected intramuscularly after every 2 or 3 weeks.

For the regulation and maintenance of treatment testosterone enanthate 250 mg/ml injected intramuscularly every 3 to 6 weeks that depends on the requirement of an individual. The testosterone level in serum should be measured before starting the treatment and also at the end of the interval of injections. If there is a high level of testosterone in serum then there should be an extension of the intervals.

Testosterone enanthate 250 mg/ml is a yellowish or clear oily fluid and is injected intramuscularly into hip muscles every 1 to 4 weeks. Lower doses for shorter intervals should be prescribed to avoid hormonal fluctuation.

The dosage varies from individual to individual according to the condition.

·        For male hypogonadism,  the dosage should be 50 mg to 400 mg in every 2 to 4 weeks

·        For delayed male puberty the dosage of testosterone enanthate should be 5mg to 200 mg every 2 to 4 weeks for 4 to 6 months.

·        For the treatment of metastatic breast cancer the dose of testosterone enanthate is 200 mg to 400 mg every 2 to 4 weeks.

·        Testosterone enanthate as transgender hormone therapy dosage should be 50 mg to 200 mg per week or 100 mg to 200 mg every 2 weeks.
